This is Amazing

Everyone that watches sports knows about Tim Donaghy. He was the NBA official who was caught betting on games that he refereed, and then went to prison. Well he wrote a book, and it was supposed to be published later this month. Instead, the publisher has decided that they would scrap the book. Make no mistake about it, the NBA is probably the most powerful sports league in the States. Donaghy dished out dirt on tons of other refs, yet no one else was prosecuted, and now they killed his book. The refs themselves tried to hold out during the off-season, and they caved before the start of the season. They didn't really get much out of their hold out. Just wait until the old collective bargaining agreement runs out, because the NBA and owners are going to crush players. Bill Simmons has been writing about this for a while now, I will try to find some of his stuff and post it. Don't be surprised if you hear about Sports Guy getting beaten to death outside a Clippers game, Stern can make this happen.

Anyways, here is the link to the ESPN aricle about the book getting killed.

More importantly, here is the link to excerpts of the book. Deadspins excerpts of Donaghy's book. I'm sure that everyone has thought that this stuff goes on, but it is amazing to actually have a first hand account of it. Make no mistake, David Stern is one of the most powerful men in all of sports. He killed the book, and he rules over the NBA with an iron fist. He manipulates games in order to make the most money possible for the NBA, its kinda sad and revealing at the same time. Hopefully more of the book comes out. Oh and by the way, Steve Javie is a piece of crap, he hated Jordan just as much as Iverson, but Jordan created the league that we watch today, so his hands were tied.
