Again here is some great news, the Big Ten Network has signed one of the best play by play guys in the history of sports telecasts! This hire automatically tripled the viewers of the Indiana-Northwestern game from 62 to 186, and I will be one of those viewers! Who is it? It is none other than Gus Johnson! Expect at least 10 buzzer beaters this season in Big Ten play, I think it is in Gus' contract that games have to be close in order for him to do them.

So after reading this chat, I have a question, when did it become completely acceptable for an entire fanbase to want a coach fired or hired on a game by game basis? Since I started school at Illinois in 1999, we are 45-61, including only winning 13 games since we made the Sugar Bowl in 2001. Now we actually have talent and a solid coaching staff and everyone wants us to be USC overnight. How about you appreciate what you have and shut the hell up!! To actually have the coaching staff that we have at Illinois now is pretty amazing considering Illinois Football is not the most sought after job in the NCAA. We are now consistently pulling in top 25 recruiting classes, which should mean top 25 teams,unless you are Notre Dame. Do you really think that after what Zook did taking us to the Rose Bowl last year, and the amazing job him and Locks do recruiting that other higher profile schools haven't called?
The people that are calling for Locksley to be fired as offensive coordinator are @$#%ing stupid. Did Juice progress from a option QB who couldn't read defenses with a completion percentage lower than Rex Grossman throwing left handed on his own? And Locks probably doesn't to throw to Rejus anymore on purpose even though he is one of the most dynamic WR's in the NCAA. Here is the secret to why Rejus doesn't get the ball on every play, when we are on offense, there is a defense on the other side of the ball. I'm pretty sure that the number one thing that opposing Defensive Coordinators are trying to stop is Rejus. They also have irrational fanbases that they have to appease also. Sorry that the NCAA doesn't revolve around Illinois football.
Juice has 18 TD passes and only 3 are to Rejus, because OTHER PEOPLE ARE OPEN!! Illinois has Benn play every down as receiver, return punts, return kicks, line-up in the backfield, catch bubble screens. What the &$*# else do you want? People say that Juice doesn't go through his progressions and zeros in on one receiver, if he really does that then why has he completed passes to 14 different receivers, and have 8 different people with TD receptions? This argument needs to stop, and people who don't understand football need to shut the hell up!! These are the same morons who think that the Bears should just direct snap to Devin Hester, and thought that Caleb Hannie should get a chance to start at QB after 2 good quarters in preseason against people who are now selling cars. If we win 2 more games, then Ron Zook has accomplished something that hasn't happened at Illinois since 1991-1992, that is go to consecutive Bowl Games.

Finally a good article about how Illinois is handling the lose and Zook getting upset. John Supinie is probably the best Illini reporter since he actually gives you quotes from players and coaches. He gives you good info and not just stupid rants that are meant to ignite the masses and gain readership. That is our job.
