Weekend Picks

Here is the third installment of Durty Butter's weekend picks. Last week we took a little bit of a beating going 1-4. Illinois did cover, but that was about all. Minnesota beat the spread with a bullshit touchdown at the end of a blowout. Wisconsin had the spread covered three times over in the first half before they forgot that college games last 60 minutes not 30. Purdue vs Notre Dame reminded us here at Durty Butter why we hate the entire state of Indiana, and Auburn proved that I clearly don't have enough knowledge about the SEC to make money.

Here are this weeks picks

Illinois (+3) @ Michigan - Michigan didn't win their game last Saturday as much as Wisconsin blew it. How do you get 5 turnovers and only score 19 points off of it? Oh and that was only in the first half!! They had a quarterback who was 12-31 for 96 yards. Illinois looked good on many drives of the Penn State game, but penalties killed them, and Penn State played pretty flawless. Nothing about Michigan makes me think that they are capable of taking home the hot chick 2 weekends in a row.

Penn State (-13.5) @ Purdue - Penn State beat a ranked Illini team by 14 , Purdue lost to Notre Dame by 17 and the game was a pick' em. So after that embarrassment, does this line mean that people feel that Notre Dame is the same caliber as PSU or that Purdue showed alot of promise by getting the hell kicked out of them by Charlie Front Butt and NBC Dame? Look for PSU to score at least 40 points.

Michigan State (-8) vs Iowa - Iowa sucks. that should be reason enough for this pick, but Ringer is running like a man possessed, and MSU has a pretty solid defense, and Iowa Sucks!

Florida (-25) @ Arkansas - Florida has to pissed about losing to Mississippi, Tim Tebow has not put together a overall solid game yet, but we all know he can do it. This is also football karma for Bobby Petrino screwing the Atlanta Falcons. They are just awful, beating Western Illinois and Louisiana - Monroe by a collective 5 points and then losing to Alabama and Texas by a combined 77 points. Even if they played inspired after getting shit rocked, a pissed of Florida will destroy them.

Auburn (-4.5) @ Vandy - Auburn screwed me last week, but if I have learned one thing, it is that it takes me a couple times to learn a lesson. Auburn has a great D and I am just waiting for the offense to show up in one game.

Last week was a terrible week to pick games because there were so many damn upsets. This happens every year, and then the next week teams that lost make a statement to keep their championship hopes alive. Look for teams like Florida, USC, Georgia, and Wisco to bounce back big. Look out OSU!
