The transition for Kosuke Fukudome was a difficult one this year, and as frustrating as it was for cubs fans, we finally have a reason for his horrible approach at the plate: IT WAS THE INTERPRETERS FAULT!!!
On Friday, Jim Hendry fired Kosuke's interpreter and is looking for one who can work with him better. This answers so many questions that I had during the season. I guess when he was supposed to tell Fukudome to hit the ball, he was probably telling him to swing wildly at the ball and look like the six year old who wears jean shorts to his little league games. We are known as the lovable losers, he probably told him that we love to lose. Fukudome might be in cahoots with the Japanese leagues who are frustrated with the MLB because we keep stealing their players. With a new interpreter, look for Fukudome to actually play to the level that we all expect, and earn at least a tenth of his ridiculous contract, which would mean that he would have to play 10 times better than last year.
