What is Vinny Doing????

I was going to wait until at least 8 games into the season to completely destroy the Bulls so far and Vinny Del Negro, but I have already had enough! What the shit is Thabo Sefolosha doing starting?? On any other playoff team in the east, Thabo would be lucky to get mop up minutes, yet he is a starter for the Bulls. A Bulls team that is struggling to score points at the beginning of games.

Have you watched any of the Bulls games this year? They have had to come from behind in everyone of them. Including tonight when they were down by 17 in the first half and the second half. Apparently here is Vinny's game logic: Lets start Thabo and Tyrus, so that way we only have 3 scorers on the floor (one of them a rookie), then lets get down by about 6 or 7 (if we are lucky) before we bring in Gordon, Noch, and Kirk. Now we have to give them a few minutes to get going because they had their pre-game warmups but have been sitting their asses on the bench for the last 20 minutes. By this point we are down by about 12 to 18 points, and hopefully someone will catch fire. We bring it back to say down by 8 at half. Sounds okay right, Vinny is gonna make halftime adjustments, see who has the hot hand, what lineups are working right? NO, he starts Thabo and Tyrus for the second half again!! Every Goddamn game!! Do those two have pictures of him selling coke to girl scouts? We have been ahead at half in only one game, and that was against the Bucks by 2, shit even Memphis had us beat at half by 8.

Is it that difficult to figure out who to play? I can't believe that I am about to write this, but I cannot wait for Larry Hughes to come back! Only for the fact that I am praying that when he comes back you won't see either Thabo or Kirk on the floor. Twice already we have scored less than 20 points in the first quarter. WE HAVE ONLY PLAYED 5 GAMES! We scored 13 points in the first quarter against Boston, that is about the same as most JV high school girls teams.

I understand that you are going to get inconsistent play from most of the Bulls players, I have watched them for years, I get it, but you know what is consistent? Thabo can't shoot, and neither can Tyrus. How in God's green earth is Tyrus Thomas allowed to go 2-17 in a game? Hell even Vince Carter stops shooting when his shooting average dips below 20%, or maybe a coach tells him that it is not his night, maybe he should look to pass. I am willing to accept a 3-10 shooting night from Gordon or Deng, but when Tyrus does this, I want heads to roll.

Here is a surprising stat, in our 2 wins, Kirk Hinrich is averaging 16.5 points, in the 3 loses he is averaging 4. So maybe our team is actually dependant on another guard scoring other than Rose and Gordon? Could it be that defenses are looking for Gordon and Rose to carry the load, and perhaps it puts pressure on them when the shooting guard can actually shoot? I think somewhere I heard that the best compliment to a penetrating guard is a spot up shooter. Seems to make sense, but maybe I'm wrong. In all fairness, I don't think Hinrich is any good either, but at least I have seen him hit an open shot during a game that wasn't in the last 2 minutes of a blowout. Hell even when Noch is out there, he stretches a defense because he can actually hit an open 3. As much as Hinrich is driving me crazy, and going 0-5 tonight, when every shot was an open look is driving me crazy, I blame Vinny. How big of a slap in the face is it when you are replaced in the starting lineup by Thabo Sefolosha? That is like a Doctor being replaced by a monkey, "I know that he has no skills whatsoever, but he runs real fast!! "

So what you are basically saying if you are Vinny is that maybe one of these games Thabo and Tyrus won't screw us in the first 6 minutes of the game, and then lookout!!!! But every time they do, at least we have our former starters to come in and make the final score look respectable. For the season Thabo is shooting 33% and has scored 20 points, Tyrus is shooting a lights out 25% and scored 37 points. Hell of a starting 2 guard and power forward right!! Don't give me the crap that he is trying to get to know his team, and see who works well together. That is was training camp and pre-season are for. These games count, and it doesn't look like we are gonna win many of them.

10 of the Bulls next 13 games come against playoff teams, and of the 3 games that aren't, 2 are on the road. Look for a rough start to the season, while watching the Knicks have a better record than us with Jamal Crawford and Chris Duhon as their starting backcourt!
