Just when you thought that Obama couldn't reach any further, it seems as if his recent outcry for a NCAA Football playoff has inspired a Congressman to consider introducing legislation to force the NCAA to adopt a playoff system by 2011.

As you know, I'm a huge proponent of a playoff system, and if it takes Congress getting involved to get it done, then I'm all for it. I would be intrigued, however, to see the legislation once it's introduced. I'm not sure that Article I of the Constitution gives Congress a "fix college football" power.
